ZZ Top concert

ZZ Top, “that little ol’ band from Texas” that’s been together more than four decades, sold more than 50 million records and earned a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will play its biggest hits at Foster Communications Coliseum on May 22.

Tickets are available for purchase during a one-day, online pre-sale that begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, on using the code TUSH. Tickets will be available to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, at and at Blair’s Western Wear, 4230 Sherwood Way, or by calling 877-990-7882.

Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard formed ZZ Top in Houston in 1970, making it the undisputed longest-running rock band with the original lineup intact. The trio released its first blues-inspired rock album in 1971. ZZ Top achieved superstardom in 1983 with its “Eliminator” album, which sold more than 10 million copies in the United States. It also spawned some of the band’s biggest hits: “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Got Me Under Pressure.”

Other hits include “La Grange,” “Tush,” “Cheap Sunglasses” and “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide.” The band has released more than 15 studio albums. Its most recent effort, “Live – Greatest Hits from Around the World,” was released in September.

Doors to Foster Communications Coliseum, 50 E. 43rd St., will open at 6:30 p.m. May 22. The music is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
