Service Awards for City employees

More than 100 public servants with nearly 2,000 years of combined experience will be recognized March 24 at the Fort Concho Stables for their loyal service to the City of San Angelo.
The 131 City employees who will be honored at the annual service awards presentation have a cumulative total of 1,765 years of experience. Service awards will be presented to employees celebrating five- 10-, 15-, 20-, 25-, 30-, 35- and 40-year milestone anniversaries. Thirty-nine employees have five years of service, another 37 have 10 years of service, 17 employees have 15 years of service, 14 have 20 years of service, 17 have 25 years of service, three employees have 30 years of service, two have 35 years of service, and two have 40 years of service.
Both of the 40-year employees are members of the San Angelo Fire Department. Battalion Chief Ricky Long retired last month. Duane Drew serves as the SAFD’s bunker gear technician following a long career as a firefighter and a driver.
The ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the Fort Concho Stables, 630 S. Oakes St. The celebration is open to co-workers, family and friends of the honorees.
“Public service is a noble calling,” Human Resources Director Lisa Marley said. “While we congratulate our employees on reaching these milestones, mostly we want to thank them for the service they have invested in our community and its citizens. They, their work and their commitment are appreciated.”
