Water conservation seminar

The Concho Valley Master Gardners will offer a free water conservation seminar and family day on Saturday, April 29, at The Bosque along the Concho River. The event is open to the public.

Themed “get more green with less blue,” the seminar will be from 10 a.m.-noon at 330 S. Irving St. along the Concho River Walk. Participants will learn about rainwater harvesting, landscape water conservation and using ET weather stations. Hands-on demonstrations will highlight techniques and tools to conserve water while growing functional, attractive landscapes and gardens of all types and styles.

A rain barrel and gift cards will be given away as door prizes.

While parents are learning, their children age 16 and younger can play miniature golf at The Bosque and fish in the river for free. Fishing poles will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information, call 325-659-6522 or visit txmg.org/conchovalley. A parking map is posted at the website.

The event is sponsored by the City of San Angelo, All-Tex Irrigation & Supply, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Adaption International and the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program. The Concho Valley Master Gardeners are a program of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
