Public meeting on CDBG and HOME grants

The City of San Angelo has estimated the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will allocate approximately $608,910 for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $215,994 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds will be available to allocate to projects in grant year 2017.

In addition, it is estimated the City will receive approximately $32,000 CDBG program income funds and $24,000 in HOME program income funds. Of the total expected $640,910 in CDBG funds (CDBG plus program income), it is estimated that at least $512,728 will be used to benefit persons of low/moderate income. All HOME expenditures must provide 100% benefit to low/moderate income persons.

To fulfill the requirements of the Citizen Participation Plan by keeping the public informed and seeking input and participation from citizens and citizen interest groups regarding the CDBG and HOME Programs for funding from the 2017 funds, the City is conducting this public meeting

CDBG & HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) Funding Applications for the 2016 grant year will be available for current sub-recipients interested in applying for continued funding for current housing programs only must submit applications by May 31, 2017.
