There will be no trash pickup on Christmas and New Year’s days. Garbage collection will be delayed one day from Dec. 25 through Jan. 5. So, Monday’s routes will be serviced on Tuesday. Tuesday’s routes will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on into Saturday during the weeks of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Routes for commercial customers will also lag by a day during that two-week span. City offices will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Fort Concho unveils new guided tour schedule

Fort Concho will offer a new guided tour schedule beginning Saturday, April 1.

The guided tour schedule at the fort, 630 S. Oakes St., will be:

  • Wednesdays through Fridays – 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Saturdays – 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Sundays – 1:30 p.m.

Self-guided tours are offered from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. The Fort Concho Visitors’ Center and exhibit buildings are open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Admission fees will remain the same for all tours offered at Fort Concho.

Self-guided tours are $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and military members, and $1.50 for children ages 7 to 17. Children 6 and younger are admitted free.

Guided tours cost $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and military members, $3 for children ages 7 to 17, and free for children 6 and younger.
