Fort Concho will honor our nation’s military with its annual Armed Forces Day celebration Saturday, May 20. Active-duty personnel and retired military members plus their families will be admitted free to the site all day.

The Fort Concho Artillery will fire an hourly salute from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Parade Ground in front of the Visitors Center at Barracks 1. All 10 fort exhibit and display buildings will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the “What’s Old is New” display in Officers’ Quarters 2.

From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Ice House Brass Band will perform at the fort’s new bandstand at the west end of the Parade Ground. Bench seating will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring chairs.
