Concho Valley Farmers Market

The Concho Valley Farmers Market will take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and will continue until October.

Customers can expect to see a little bit of everything: radishes, greens, beets, all plants, fresh pecans, eggs, beef, pork and more.

The farmers market typically charges customers $1 for a bundle or a bowl of produce. Cash payment is recommended as not all vendors accept debit or credit cards.

Farmers can join the market for $15 or $20, which allows them to set up a stand for $5 or $10 at each sale. Vendors come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo.

For more information, call Margie Jackson, president of the Concho Valley Farmers Market, at 325-245-3338.

June 19: Farmers Market grand opening to feature live music, prizes and more

The Concho Valley Farmers Market will have one of its biggest arrays of produce when it celebrates its annual grand opening from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. this Saturday, June 19, under the Farmers Market Pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St., across from Fort Concho.

The vendors, who come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo, will be offering locally grown and seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants. Expect to see twice as many vendors at the grand opening. All produce will be available aside from melons and okra, which are not yet in season. Door prizes of fresh vegetables will be given out during the first two hours of the event and a saxophone player will be performing live for everyone to enjoy.

The farmers market is open three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays. Interested farmers can join the market for $15 or $20, which allows them to set up a stand for $5 or $10 at each sale. The market opened May 8 and will hold its sales until the first fall freeze.
