On Thursday, June 24, the American Plains Artists Summer Show opens at Fort Concho’s Barracks 6, located off Henry O. Flipper Street on the fort’s northeast corner. An opening reception with light refreshments will run from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The reception and show are free to all.
Regular hours for the show will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The show will run until Sunday, Aug. 1.
All art will be available for sale with proceeds benefiting the respective artists and Fort Concho.
Themes of this year’s show will follow many classic subjects such as cowboys, ranching, mountains, the Great Plains, colorful vistas, soldiers, Native Americans and the rich diversity of plants and animals that inhabit the west.

These artists received the most votes in the 2020 American Plains Artists Show and they have returned this year with new works for show and sale.
