Watch some of the top PleinAir artists from across the country paint all week around San Angelo and on private ranches in the area! Noted as one of the top plein air competitions in the U.S., EnPleinAirTEXAS has an exciting week of activities and more than $30,000 in prize money for the winning artists. “En plein air” is the French term for painting outdoors in the open air.
In 1921, artists and teachers gathered on the South Concho River near Christoval to paint at the Texas Artist Camp, which became one of the best-known organizations of its kind in the Southwest.

Welcome party with the artists at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Meet this year’s competitors at an informal gathering on the rooftop of the museum!

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. International Water Lily Collection, 2 N. Park St.
- Wednesday:
9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Behind the museum, along the river.
Noon to 2 p.m. Chicken Farm Art Center, 2505 Martin Luther King Drive.
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Concho Avenue downtown, "Golden Hour Paint-Out."

Field ranch experience with the artists - Spend a morning out on the ranch with the artists!
Friday, Oct. 28
Artists in schools and with students – high school & private school art students will watch and visit with artists at the International Water Lily Collection. Artists will also visit classes on every SAISD elementary and middle school campus.
First exhibit & sale from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Fort Concho Stables, 210 Henry O. Flipper St. All sales support the children's education programs at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and the participating artists.
Saturday, Oct. 29
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Artists will be painting behind the Museum of Fine Arts at the Day of the Dead Festival.
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Final exhibit and sale held at the Fort Concho Stables.
