Fort Concho’s Frontier Day, a 45-year tradition at the site, returns on Saturday, April 22, with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast that starts the day at 7:30 a.m. Seating will be available on the south side of the fort. Breakfast tickets are $8, which includes a meal of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee.
Morning music, living history demonstrations, a mock gunfight by the Concho Cowboy Company, vintage baseball, children’s games, arts and crafts, and activities reflecting the region’s agricultural and ranching heritage will take place on the Parade Ground and porches along Officers’ Row. All events for the day are free except for the breakfast.
The site’s touring buildings will also be open during the event.
