The City of San Angelo, in collaboration with the local unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the San Angelo Area Foundation, will be holding a ribbon-cutting for the grand opening of the new public restrooms at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the park pavilion.
Located at 2121 Martin Luther King Blvd., the park’s public restrooms are a testament to the commitment of the community towards enhancing visitors’ experiences.
This project was funded through the community thanks to efforts of the NAACP local unit and the San Angelo Area Foundation. The City of San Angelo will cover maintenance costs. The restrooms’ design was done by KFW Architects, with construction provided by McCrea Construction.
"We are thrilled to invite the public to join us in celebrating the completion of this significant project," said Carl White, parks and recreation director. "The new public restrooms at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park stand as a symbol of our community's commitment to providing essential amenities and enhancing the overall park experience for all visitors."
Representatives from the City of San Angelo, NAACP, San Angelo Area Foundation, and other community leaders will be at the event.
