Fort Concho will mark Memorial Day at 9 a.m. Monday, May 27, with a special program in front of the Headquarters Building to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our nation.
Aaron Woods, a veteran of the Gulf War as a member of the United States Marine Corps, will give the main address. The Fort Concho Living History Program and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans will fire the memorial salutes. Refreshments will be available at the end of the program served by the Pocahontas Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the organizer of the event.
Fort Concho will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day with 10 exhibit and display buildings available.
