Fort Concho Speaker Series

The Fort Concho Speaker Series will return this year from noon to 1 p.m. each Wednesday this September.

Each presentation will take place in the Fort Concho Commissary, 702 Burgess St. Admission is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunches.

This year’s lineup of topics and speakers includes:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 11: “Frontier Army Chaplains” by Bob Bluthardt, Fort Concho Site Manager; "Great Flood of San Angelo" by Monte Jones, Cowboy Poet & Retired Preacher.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 18: “150th Anniversary of the Red River Wars” by Sarah Thieme, education coordinator, Fort Concho.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 25: “The Lost War for Texas: The True Story of Texas’ First Revolution of 1811” by James Aalan Bernsen, author.
