The Nursing Division provides a range of services designed to promote healthy living through prevention, protection and intervention.

Immunization clinics

Texas Vaccines for Children provider

Immunization Clinic hours: Tuesdays 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. *Must call 325-657-4214 to schedule an appointment.

Cost: $13.75 per child/per visit, $22 per vaccine for adults.

Bring: Updated shot record, latest Medicaid card.

Payment: Payment must be made with cash or a local check. Out-of-town checks, debit cards, insurance and Children's Health Insurance Program not accepted.

Reminder for children: We request that you only bring the child who is receiving vaccinations and a parent or guardian. Note that we are a TVFC provider and can only administer vaccinations to children who are uninsured or are on Medicaid.

Routine childhood immunizations offered are:

  • Menactra (Meningococcal)

  • DTaP/IPV

Adult immunizations include:

  • Tdap
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Hepatitis B *series of three shots.
  • Meningococcal and influenza
  • *All limited supply — Please call beforehand to confirm availability.

Federal law states that anyone who has insurance coverage can no longer receive state-funded immunizations at the San Angelo Health Department. The Health Department can still immunize anyone 18 years of age and younger who has Medicaid or no insurance.

Adults 19 years of age and older who do not have any insurance can still receive a select number of services at the Health Department.

The Health Department does not have the shingles vaccine. Check with a pharmacy or a medical doctor.

Laboratory services

The Nursing Department provides clinical testing at reduced rates.

Lab tests

  • Varicella virus, Ab-Titer (chicken pox immunity) $35.46.
  • MMR Titer (measles, mumps, rubella immunity) $68.39.
  • Hep B Surface Ab, immunity (Hep B antibodies immunity) $32.89.

Tuberculosis testing

Tuberculosis testing is conducted on Tuesdays only. The cost is $20. Medicaid is not accepted for TB testing. To schedule an appointment, please call 325-657-4214.

Sexually Transmitted Disease clinics

STD clinics are conducted by appointment only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The clinic tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV. To schedule an appointment, please call 325-657-4214.

The $25 cost must be paid with cash or a local check. Follow-up treatment costs $10.
